4.5 * I really enjoyed this one. I am not sure why actually. Definitely partly to the style. Very light and self-conscious even though the story told was tragic. A great study of relationships and their social context as well. One thing that struck me was the amount of suicides in the book. I am not sure if it is somehow tied to Japanese culture or was it some thread connecting the characters in some way. Either way, I really want to discuss this book with someone now!
