I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
It has been a few years since I've read a Harlequin Manga, so when I saw this one show up on Netgalley, I was hit with some nostalgia and decided to try it out.
I was so disappointed. The story is so fast paced it seems to be a roller coaster. They both like each other from one loo and while he says he can't be with her because she is raising her half-sister's infant, all his actions show the opposite. It is so frustrating??? And she keeps thinking how she can't help but fall for him. Yet, we aren't given reasons for their attraction to each other besides looks??? There is also the communication problems and being SUPER quick to make decisions and pass judgment.
There really doesn't feel like there is a story here.
The characters also don't really have personalities. Everyone is pretty bland. :/
On a positive note, I really liked the cute art style. There is a 4-koma in the back providing background on one scene in the book and I liked it so much more than the whole story??? 4 squares and I smiled.
So, this isn't a manga I'd recommend. I'm now wondering if I'm remembering all the ones I did read in a too-kind light...
