This book was an absolute delight to read. Action, Romance, Mystery, and slight fantasy – this book has everything I want in a book.

I will admit that I started this book skeptical about the futuristic aspects, unsure if I would find them to be corny, but it was actually well done. The futuristic parts of the book were not flaunted about or overly explained, but just existed. It felt natural to the book and the world, making me feel comfortable. At times I did I knew more about the world, but I was too focused on Eve and the mystery to truly be sad about the world-building. Also, as a series the world-building can slowly continue instead of being jammed into one book like many books do now.

I will say that I found the romance to be too simple. Billionaire playboy falling in love with one woman, ready to be everything for them, is a trope over done. Now, I can't complain too much about originality, since I'm not sure how often it was written about back in the 90s. So, the romance is nothing new for long time romance readers, but I didn't find the romance to be the main part of the book, so I didn't mind it too much, especially since it impacted the mystery and became integral. Usually I feel that a romance isn't needed, but here it fit so well.

The writing is well done. The characters are just beginning with lots of room for growth. There is definition between characters so they are not easily confused. The writing is gripping and the story is wonderfully told.

I look forward to reading the next installment.
