My Own Words

“My Own Words” gives insight into the life of a supreme court justice and details former justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's legal advocacy for the equal opportunity of women, her dissents and views on affirmative action and abortion, her opinions on legal matters, and her view of the role of a supreme court justice. My only issues with the book are that some information was repeated, particularly certain cases such as the VMI case, some of the original recordings were difficult to hear, although the audiobook narrators did a fantastic job of course. Also, there didn't seem to be much order in the topics discussed. But despite those issues, I truly enjoyed learning more about the supreme court and American law through this book, though I will note that some parts were difficult to understand as someone who has not studied law.
