Moth and Spark

Peculiar, but good.

Some scenes are not appropriate for all readers (and, frankly, could have been skipped more...).

This book needed a good editor to help the author with her pacing and plotting. Almost all of the action takes place in the last 50 pages after 300 pages of focus on the romance between Tam and Corin. Their relationship delightful in its own way and full of lively dialogue, but ultimately disappointing for a book that promised a fantasy adventure a la Sharon Shinn.

I would check out future releases by this author, albeit with caution, to see if her innate talent for dialogue and characterization are utilized in service of a better plot next time around.
