Mockingbird is a tornado of a crime thriller that exposes Miriam Black's life on the edge, and a novel of suspense that skulks through the dilapidated edges of America, casting light in its neglected corners. This is the second book in the Miriam Black series.

I couldn't really get into the first book in this series. I could look at it objectively and say, “That's a well written book,” but it just didn't do it for me. This one? Holy crap, what a difference. I was engaged in this story from the start. Highly recommend.
