Mistborn: The Final Empire

Really groovy magic system, some very interesting world-building, and a fantasy series novel that has a proper ending and stands well alone? This book does many things right. Very good, and highly recommended for fans of fantasy. The magic system is unusual and the way it is revealed to the reader is well-paced. I think the world would make an interesting RPG setting, which is always a good sign.
