Mistborn: The Final Empire

I enjoyed this so much on a reread! I definitely needed to reread it before continuing because I had forgotten so many important points and elements of the world and magic. There's just so much to still explore about the different magic systems and I can't wait to find out more.

I still stand by my original review, in that for about the first 400 pages the pace doesn't feel quick enough for the plot. It reads much slower than it should and only really picks up the pace in the last 200+ pages. I hope the second book has a better pace as I can see it being an easy 5 stars if so.

I'm going straight into book 2 because I need to find out more!



First read - 2016

It took me so long to read this as I kept picking up other books between chapters. I do think that it took a little while to pick up speed but with this sort of epic that is to be expected, however the end whizzed by and sealed the deal for me. It was a fantastic ending to this first book and I look forward to reading the rest of the series!
