In a post-Apartheid kitchen, a single night, both brutal and tender, unfolds between a black farm laborer, his master's daughter, and the woman who has raised them both. John and Mies Julie spiral into a deadly battle over power, sexuality and memory.

This guy tried to say Ibsen stole his female characters? Ibsen at least liked women. Read the Neil LaBute adaptation and this play is nonsensical in the Jazz Age. Worse than the characters being vile, they didn't make any sense. No ones motivations were actually clear at all. Everyone goes from being a pure villain to a pure saint in a matter of seconds.
