Mind Games

Not recommended for the story and not recommended for the smut.

Reference-heavy, videogame-y writing that does nothing for the narrative, riddled with spelling mistakes throughout, and a plot that starts out with promise and gets steadily worse the longer it drags on. I wanted to like this book but it just doesn't deliver on the premise. The weirdly intense focus on the race of a few of the characters felt uncomfortable and fetishistic, too.

Would-be readers are advised to spend their (at time of writing) rather optimistic £8(!!) on one of the many games this story gleefully references instead and enjoying the story before it is regurgitated here.

An experience not unlike following the author to a restaurant and trying to taste the food by sniffing the author's farts. 2/5 stars.
