I got a copy of this book in exchange for a review from the publisher.

We get a great portrait of Lyon and the food there. I love the prologue that gives a little view of how the Lyon food culture started. We also get a good behind the scenes look at a magazine. The solution was clever and well thought out. Laure's inclusion in the case made sense. It wasn't a stretch like some cozies are. The ‘romance' is basically non-existent and I like that.
There were a LOT of characters talked about. It was hard to keep some of them straight. The investigation came late in the book. It made sense because this is book 1 of a series. However, it did feel like parts of the book were unnecessary.
It is a good start and I am interested in reading more of this series.
