Metal Slinger

This book had so much potential and I want to rate it higher but I just can't. The world building is so cool and unique- I was drawn into the island world and the plot but the editing was just so jarring. The transitions were confusing and made you feel like you missed something. And I JUST cannot get behind this plot twist at the end. I don't understand readers who are in awe of this twist... the reason it's so surprising is because the author just withholds information from a FIRST PERSON POV the whole book. I can't even call this a good use of an unreliable narrator because there's no plausible reason she should be unreliable. I think it's trying to be shocking but it's just poor writing :/
