If Medium rare was a meal in Gourmet restaurant, it'd have been actually perfectly cooked and stylishly served plate even for the most capricious of clients. In typical Jackson's style it has a good plot line with erotica undertones. I love the open and blunt way his characters express their desires and thoughts, leaving nothing under a false or coy veneer. There is no pinning or beating around the bush. Cade and Jay had this immediate, intense and insta connection from the start that turned into a hot, sizzling romance despite their initial preference to just keep it physical and out of commitment. But it just wasn't possible. Galore of salt, vengeful ghosts, a supernatural twist, a deep plunge into the past to find all the missing pieces, a sweet kid, caught in a dark web of absolute unknown, two men, united to protect it and colorful side characters like Uncle Gally and auntie Lavinia - are an excellent recipe for one really entertaining story, that I read in just one sitting. It was a fast burn explosion on all fronts - the heat, the spice and the suspense in perfect synchrony.
