A selection from the complete text of [b:Meditations 30659 Meditations Marcus Aurelius https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/books/1421618636s/30659.jpg 31010], published as a Penguin 60.This book is a series of quotes, bullet pointed, and not really in any organised order. They are philosophical, sensible, and generally inspirational / aspirational. Many people 4 & 5 starred this book - and perhaps it is that good at what it does. Maybe I read it in a time that I didn't take it in, or concentrate so well. It was written a long time ago, and has a modern translation, but it was in places a little stilted, a little wordy. The short quotes appealed more for me.“If it is not right do not do it; if it is not true do not say it.” “Waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be. Be one.”“Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.” There is morality, integrity, optimism and more.I had this in at 3 stars, but perhaps a re-read in the future would increase this.
