I agree with many people that the flashback portions of the book were really compelling, maybe the best part of the story. That said, I do love the “rich people problems” genre, and Nina's evolution as a character was rewarding. There are some plot elements that feel tacked on (like, strangely, the fire) but I felt a great deal of sympathy for the Riva siblings and liked spending time with them, so that was worth an extra star.
