a little too juvenile for me, not exactly E for everyone meaning adults may have a hard time enjoying this

Inventive YA book about a different type of magic from what you may be familiar with from Harry Potter. The creativity is slightly offset by the uninteresting antagonist.

Age range: 10-14
Younger readers may be daunted by the length, and older readers may get bored.

Loved: I enjoyed the very clear hero's journey.
Meh: Ignoring the middle children! As usual!
What Will Stick: Your gut knows. It knows more about you than YOU know about you. Remember this!!!

This was one of the sweetest stories I have read in a long time. A proper fairy tale fantasy and it had a dragon, a lost princess who is practical and not prissy and the magykal seventh son of a seventh son.
I will be reading the rest of the series very soon.

Fun read for those that like stories involving magical worlds and wizards. I didn't feel invested in the characters by the end, though, so will probably not continue the series.

Terrible. Relying on virtually every fantasy trope available, this is the most pointlessly formulaic book I've ever read. The phrase, “Don't waste your time,” seems tailor-made for this tome.
