The biggest takeaway from this book is that Alexander Hamilton was a TERRIBLE husband.
This is really a 2.5 star book because its tediously uninteresting. Far too much description of historical fashions and food. Also, pretty much nothing happens. But at least there's an author's note at the end (although it doesn't mention sources) clarifying which bits are pure invention and what the historical scholarship indicates.
