This was really good information. Besides watching The 13th, I haven't delved too deeply into the mass incarceration of Blacks in America. Most books I've read about talk about the subject and I did read The New Jim Crow, but this was different in that it goes into both sides of the coin. The influence of the Black Church in politics, especially elections and the passage of measures. It also really lays out how something that might sound like a good idea has far reaching consequences if we don't truly do the research.
