I'm pretty picky when it comes to thrillers I enjoy. I usually end up thinking the main character is an idiot and should have had concerns looooong before they do. That was not the case here. I was pleasantly surprised by this book and it kept me guessing.

Truly, one of the biggest compliments I can big this book is that I don't think the main character made stupid choices in order to progress the plot. The plot just kept going and, for the most part, her decisions made sense for her circumstance. Yes, the place gives strict, weird rules, but for the money– I know I wouldn't say no. And I think that is one of the creepiest parts – I could understand her mindset and could see myself in her spot making these decisions even if the whole thing sounded too good to be true.

I also thought the mystery progressed at a good, solid clip. I will admit that I did skim some in the middle as I thought of of it was redundant, but there wasn't too much downtime and the way and the reason for her investigations made sense. Someone is missing and no one cares after she tells you that other people have gone missing? Yeah, you are going to look into it.

As for the twists and the ending. It took me toward the last third of the book to even suspect what was going on. I kind of guessed it... the concept at least, but not the entirety. So, really that is fantastic!!

Do I recommend this one? Yes! I definitely think this is a thriller giving a chance and I will be reading more by this author in the future.
