She must recover the Dominion Jewel, a legendary gem with enormous power for good -- but only in the right hands. And she must work quickly. Tortall is in great danger, and Alanna's archenemy, Duke Roger, is back -- and more powerful than ever. I enjoyed my time with Alanna (and of course Faithless!) I felt like this one maybe dragged a bit for me but overall I am content with this finale.
The final installment on the Alanna/Lioness books. This one is longer than the others and puts Alanna through the paces as she strives to be a better warrior and figure out her role in the kingdom. Enjoyable YA read - like cotton candy and a good reading escape.
