With its uplifting message about love and community, this gorgeously illustrated picture book with a kid-friendly palette is going to make kids think long after the cover closes. Some trees grow up wanting to be tall lighthouses or big red barns full of horses. Not Linden. He is grateful just being a tree. Through snowy winters full of caroling to summertime picnics beneath his shady boughs, Linden watches over the community of people who love and care for him. Once upon a time there lived a tree named Linden. This is his story. Colleen Muske's heartfelt, gorgeously illustrated ode to the simple joys of loving one's community is full of childlike wonder and comfort in the many ways nature supports and surprises us. - A book about community - Like The Giving Tree, Linden watches over those who care and love for him. UNLIKE the Giving Tree, Linden's love for his community isn't expressed through sacrifice. This is ultimately a more positive message for kids. - A story with deep roots of wisdom - Gorgeously illustrated with a kid-friendly palette - A story to connect generations

I LOVE TREES
A swee little story about realizing that you are, and have always been, enough and important and loved. The painted illustrations feel quaint and cozy.
