Life Before Legend

So can use have a little more... I know there's the rest of the series but I wanna read more about twelve year old June and Day.

Son dos historias de June y Day tres años antes de que se conocieran, y sirven además de conocerlos un poco más.

Primero tenemos a Day, quien aún no se topa con Tess pero sí con una chica llamada Charlie –cuatro años mayor– cuando intentó robarle un par de latas al cargamento de su padre. Charlie fue una chica amable y picarona, que me agradó a pesar de lo corta que fue la historia. Cuando vinieron los soldados a llevarse el cargamento de su padre, obviamente el sentido de la justicia de Day hizo aparición y saboteó el camión; No obstante, ver a este Day más inocente me inspiró ganas de apapucharlo, todavía más ante su experiencia de su primer beso.

En segunda instancia está June, con su primer día luego de ser admitida en la Universidad de Dake. A June la sentí igual, salvo que todavía no ha desarrollado la fiereza y fortaleza que se le ve en “Legend”. Sin embargo, luego de una llegada tardía, una pelea inesperada y su primer reporte, me sentí altamente identificada con ella cuando exponía su soledad y temor de no poder hacer amigos allí en la universidad. Era exactamente la sensación que recuerdo tenía yo en mi primer día (seguro como el de la mayoría, aunque sí tenía la edad correspondiente). Hubo una parte al final, cuando Metias le dice que pronto encontrará a alguien que la entienda, donde me dolió. Se nota que la autora hace obviedad de la aparición de Day, pero es el momento entre hermanos lo que me afectó.
Leer esto después de leer el primer libro, me hizo doler la muerte de Metias.

Como dije al inicio, esta historia corta nos permite conocer un poco más cómo era la vida de los protagonistas antes de los inicios en Legend, y la considero capaz incluso de leerse antes de los tres libros. Un bonus extra dulce y divertido, valga la redundancia.

This novella has two snapshots, one from Day's first kiss another about June's first day of school. Overall I enjoyed it but it took me way to long to read for a novella. It wasn't because it was bad or anything it was just okay. This provided more background for the characters to understand why the characters acted the way they did in the first book. Overall I enjoyed Day's story more than June. In my opinion June just sounded like an over confident brat, and honestly I feel like she was still like that up until Champion. I'm not sure if the novella is worth the money but it's nice to check it out if you have nothing else to read.

Nice short stories for Day and June, even if they don't exactly add anything new to the main plot. Day's shows how hard life has been for him on the streets, while June had her own issues as she entered university at the age of 12.

This booklet is included in the box set, so I have no complaints regarding the price. :D

It's short and it was nice to get back the world of June and Day. You will get to live in a memory of Day's and one of June.

At first, I was like “oook”. I mean it was OK In the grand scheme of things I just couldn't understand the significance of this being written. Now that I've read Prodigy, the second book in the series and the book that comes after this one, I realize that it lends for a better understanding of some things that go down in Prodigy. Honestly, though... You really don't even need to know these stories/memories. Not really.
