Taylor Adams does it again.
No Exit is one of my favorites of all time so I was pretty nervous dipping my toes into another Taylor Adams book but I was NOT disappointed.
This book had constantly had my heart racing, from having me feeling genuinely scared to shocking me with twist after twist. I was texting all my friends along the way begging them to read this one too.
Another for the favorite thrillers list.
This books true title should have been an Incels guide to murder”. Honestly this book was one where I truly needed to know how it ended and it had twists like a thriller should but I'm just sitting here thinking “really? This is the book?” And I'm sorry throwing in there that oh wait he's schizoaffective too! So that explains some of his behaviors! 😒 that's a no from me dawg. Way to stigmatize mental health. I heard such good things about this book and I'm just left feeling disappointed. I listened to it faster just to get through it. It stressed me out. It made me mad. And it's like a bad dinner at a restaurant you really thought you would like. Over hyped and a waste of time.
its fucking stupid im so sorry. too much suspension of disbelief required & too many dumb decisions made just for the sake of the plot.
emma's dumb, like do you have 0 instinct de survie at all ???? pourquoi se réfréner d'alerter la police & dans la même veine save you damn life just to save a neighbour you know nothing about ???? or risk your life for a dog ???? im sorry it makes 000000 sense
n how did she survive being poisoned then dunked into the ocean w a bag full of rocks ????? how did her husband instantly forgive her after ghosting him for MONTHS, & when they just lost their child ????? (TOTALLY HER FAULT BTW!!!!)
I WILL NEVER GET OVER THIS!!! 4.5!!!! lost half a point simply because i was so stressed about the dog the entire book to fully enjoy it
4.5 Stars. It has its cheesey moments and dialogue but for the most part it was a good action packed thriller.
Did I guess the killer by the middle of the book? Yes.
Did the ending go a bit wild and kinda unbelievable? Yes.
But boy did I have fun. I absolutely loved the tone differences between the written book vs the real story. I found the character believable and I understood her actions which is half the battle in thriller books for me. If you don't mind your triller going a bit on the campy side you are gonna love this fast paces thrill of a book.
A fair attempt at a plot twist but a tad too much maybe; it got almost confusing in the end.
Ugh. Many thoughts. I enjoyed this book, but I guessed everything that was going to happen, down to the (pun completely intended) last words of the book. There were so many over the top cliches, and the twists were so predictable that I hesitate to even call them twists.
I truly did enjoy the ride, but I'm disappointed Taylor Adams didn't throw in something unique.
4.5 i really enjoyed this one and i read it so fast it was action packed and it kept me invested the whole time.
WOW. This was wild. Thank's to Kelsea for letting me borrow her BOTM copy!
This was a great read. Lots of twists and turns. Excellent writing style. Fast paced.
Read in one sitting type of book.
Going to read the author's backlog.
DNF @ 42 %
You know when you want to start skimming at 20% it's not a great outlook for the book. But I persevered and tried more but this felt like a slog, and honestly no thriller should feel like a slog.
I loved the premise of this one but it just came off as a bit cheesy and cringy, and I didn't like the back and forth between the normal chapters and his book chapters(?). Just an odd choice.
I know this will work for many people but I am not those people and that's okay
A wonderful, page-turning thriller that gets right into the suspense and action. Couldn't put it down. Overall, a good time with many twists and heartfelt moments.
This was really good but I think I enjoyed NO EXIT more. I don't think anything will beat that book.
Needless to say, i would think twice before posting a one star review, lol.
This book was such a ride.
I loved it.
This is a fast-paced and fun thriller. Easy to read and fly though, I finished this in two days. Sometimes a quick and simple read, with a couple of twists, is just what I need.
Absolutely brilliant!
So many twists and turns I didn't see coming and omg I laughed so much at some of the descriptions of our “nice guy.” This book had me laughing more than I never had at a thriller, which was a weird feeling when I'd go from laughing to heart-racing at a creepy moment.
The novel had me going “how will she get out of this one?” and “what cliche will be destroyed now?” at every turn.
Content warnings: child death (not violent), car crash, murder, attempted suicide, suicidal thoughts
The dog is fine! I might have been too worried to continue the book if I hadn't seen other people mention that the dog lives, so I wanted to share that along. Injuries are also not severe, but are listed under spoiler for those concerned: Laika starts to eat meat with fishhooks in it-- gets one cut to the gums. Laika eats poisoned meat and is forced to vomit. No other injuries! At the end of the book she's happy and carefree as always
I slept on this and am landing on 2 stars. While it started out good, light, and a bit funny the ending kind of devolved for me. I get the central theme of coincidences and rarities happening but I thought the darker turn was a bit unnecessary for me. I also think it dragged a bit too much and by the end of it I lost interest. :(
Oh well.
Books in this genre are pretty much all the same - nothing really wrong with their writing, just nothing special. This was something different, though. The author really knows how to ramp up the tension and make you feel it. I really didn’t want to stop reading and read most if it the same day. This is the first book of this kind I’ve read in a long time where I really wanted to read another of the author’s books right away.
so stupid and 100 pages too long but its fun if you're reading it to/with someone else
