Knockemstiff

This was so good. It inspired a few short stories out of me while reading it, just to see if I could do what he does here, which is use some sort of linking/morphing metaphor that bookends a small slice of time, showing arc in characters. I failed, of course, but enjoyed watching him do it over and over again in this short story collection. I'll read these stories again and again in the future, just to try and steal more from, if not just to enjoy the quiet depravity that exists in this book.

Little podunk town
chock-full of nasty people
ugly, but sincere.

Some of the stories are okay, but I'm definitely not a fan of the transgressive school.
