Knit One, Kill Two

I read this book after reading the second book in the series. I enjoyed Knit One, Kill Two much more than the second book. The mystery kept my attention more and the relationships seemed more geniune. I also understood more about Kelly's character and why she acted the way she did in the second book.

2.75 stars it was okay. The narration was terrible though.

I am a knitter. I used to be a shepherd. I know wool. I can get wool from a sheep's back on a man's back. You do not garrote anyone with wool yarn.
Why? It's elastic and weak, one can break it easily with bare hands. The amount of force one would need to wind it around someone's neck, would break it. Not to break it, it would have to be a whole skein of yarn, and that's like trying to strangle someone with a wool scarf. It's very elastic. I simply cannot believe it would put enough pressure on your throat to stop the air flow. (Now, there's a case where a woman was supposedly strangled with rubber-bands linked together to form a long enough chain, but... I don't believe that either.)

The main character is also supposed to be a knitting designer, and doesn't know anything about internet, selling patterns online, free patterns online - and this book was published 2005. (Check out Knitty.com. It has been around for almost 20 years. Really great patterns, all free.)

I didn't find any of the characters interesting, the plot was stupid, there was nothing in this book that could catch me, and I found the author's ignorance of the topic she chose to write about terribly aggravating.
