I have mixed feelings about this book. The author is very talented and her writing is textured and evocative. The story is told from many points of view and jumps around in time. I was fine with this but really wanted the loose ends to be tied together at the end. This never occurred which was a disappointment.

Very beautiful and sorrowful. It's interesting how things intertwine and yet stay so separate. I see this as a story just like everyone has a story - some are just harder to explain why or how or what or when.

3.5 stars. Beautiful prose, but this book felt tired by about halfway through. Had I not read it so quickly, I probably would have abandoned it. However, the plot is interesting and covers decades, different perspectives, two marriages, and a horrible, life-changing incident. I'd definitely recommend this to others; it just wasn't my particular cup of tea.
