A Story of Hope and Possibility

It was all over the news in 1989. A woman was brutally attacked, beaten, and left for dead in Central Park. This is her story of recovery.
The Central Park Jogger was heard of practically everywhere in the late 80s early 90s. She was out for a jog one night while, unbeknownst to her, a group of teens/young adults were making their was through the area "wilding", assaulting and vandalizing as they went. A lady, known only as "The Central Park Jogger" at the time, was viciously attacked and left for dead during the chaos of that night. The aftermath of that night was a politically charged time for the United States, and a miraculous recovery from the brink of death for "The Central Park Jogger". This book is the story of her fight to survive, her struggles, her drive, and the help she received from others while on her long journey back to herself; her physical, mental, and emotional states along the way.
This book is NOT about the circumstances surrounding her attack nor those who were wrongfully accused and convicted of the crimes against her.

Note: This book is about the author's recovery. It is not about the those who were wrongfully convicted.
I remember when the Central Park Jogger was attacked. It was all over the news. The book is about her and her long road of recovery. It would be wonderfully inspiring reading for someone with traumatic brain injury. She's very strong-willed and is a great example of perseverance.
The part of her book that I like best was that she got so much support from others; financial support from the company she worked for, letters and prayers from strangers, support and love from family and friends. It is amazing to think that so many people did care about her well being. She credits all of this support (along with the immense support from doctors and medical staff) as contributing to her recovery.
I really enjoyed reading about her gradual progression toward her new self and how she grew into the person that she is now, how she found love, how she changed direction with her career and became an inspiration for those who suffered TBI.
