The first in an exciting new series by USA Today bestseller Kerrigan Byrne! These men are dark, bold, and brave. And there is only one woman who can bring them to their knees... Famed and brilliant, Lady Alexandra Lane has always known how to look out for to herself. But nobody would ever expect that she has darkness in her past—one that she pays a blackmailer to keep buried. Now, with her family nearing bankruptcy, Alexandra strikes upon a solution: Get married to one of the empire’s most wealthy eligible bachelors. Even if he does have the reputation of a devil. LOVE TAKES NO PRISONERS Piers Gedrick Atherton, the Duke of Redmayne, is seeking revenge and the first step is securing a bride. Winning a lady’s hand is not so easy, however, for a man known as the Terror of Torcliff. Then, Alexandra enters his life like a bolt of lightning. When she proposes marriage, Piers knows that, like him, trouble haunts her footsteps. But her gentleness, sharp wit, independent nature, and incredible beauty awakens every fierce desire within him. He will do whatever it takes to keep her safe in his arms. “Romantic, lush, and suspenseful.”—New York Times bestselling author Suzanne Enoch

** Trigger Warning** In the Prologue, rape at 17, is the first thing you see Alexandra go through. The scene is pinnacle to this book and Alexandra's story. The author does a great job explaining the aftermath and how a woman in this time would try to cope with PTSD. I love how Gabriel is with her. He helps her get through so many barriers without even knowing that they are there. He is just being a good guy and trying to give his partner what she needs. Yes, he is a dick when he thinks Alexandra was dishonest about her virginity. But it is a true representation of how a husband may act in this time pried.
I enjoyed this book and will read the next. That being said. Gabriel should have learned the truth sooner. It was just dragged out. I didn't see the need for the added drama there was already so much going on. Moving the discovery forward would have let the readers focus on everything else, instead of having so much to keep track of. The Laundry scene when Gabrial is processing everything was so well done. It's defiantly one of my favorite written scenes.
