Nothing beats a good reading of HtGSC! The movie and the book never disappoint.
“And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled ‘till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.”
I always used to think Dr. Seuss books were a little silly when I was young; I advanced a little too quickly in my reading abilities and never was a big lover of any sort of poetic joke. So when I read this for the first time as a storyteller at my job, with toddlers all around me, I did find some of it just as silly as I had expected. But I also liked the story of how the wicked fellow learns to think of others besides himself.
