I enjoyed visiting these characters again in a fun adventure. New challenges arise while our characters continue to face the wounds of the past. The romance seemed to have more of a focus than the previous book. There is still a fun story for those who aren't looking for romance, specifically.
It was definitely better than the first part. More decisive in a way. And bigger stakes, of course. Will definitely read the next book when it comes out.
Owein is such a good boy! The way he dealt with Bailey was delicious.
The way Meritt reconciled with his mother was so touching. And the stepfather is actually a piece of work, no wonder he messed up him as a boy so badly. Looking forward to him reconnecting with his sisters.
I enjoyed this so much! It's a wonderful continuation of the series. We got to see Hulda and Merritt's relationship deepen. We got to learn more about Owein's life and Merritt's magic. I'm excited for the next installment in the series.
