I'm tempted to start this with the words “that was a cracking good yarn!”, because that is how I feel about this final book in the Riyria Revelations trilogy. There were many unexpected turns and some expected ones, lots of emotional storytelling that had me tearing up more than once and even made me stop to get a kleenex at one point (a sure sign that the story hit all the right notes), while also managing to have an amazing adventure tied into it all while finishing up all the loose ends. It is a truly wonderful end to this well done trilogy and certainly one I would recommend to anyone looking for a newer ‘traditional' fantasy to get into. I sometimes miss the adventure style fantasy that seems to have gone by the wayside with the new gritty, political-fantasy phase right now, but this trilogy harkens back to those books that made me originally fall in love with fantasy, without falling into some of the cliched tellings we've gotten over the years. Thank you for such a wonderful story Michael J. Sullivan - I really, really enjoyed reading it.
