Getting better! Maybe I judged the first book too harshly. This was a pretty decent read, and I liked some of the new characters introduced (Rowan and Manon) and I liked that it didn't (entirely) end how I expected it to. Props to Maas for giving us a relationship between a guy and a girl with no romance. That's pretty rare to see anymore, and I always love it. I think it worked really well in this book and it made me like it so much more than I expected to!
