Hani and Ishu’s Guide to Fake Dating

This was a perfect, perfect June read. Jaigirdar includes lighthearted romance to make you smile while also exploring topics like biphobia, social issues, and more, drawing a really beautiful juxtaposition between fluff and romance and cute “fake” dating with more serious topics, and she does so in a really beautiful and well-written way. This book made me smile more times than once, and my that cover is so cute.

This was a cute little sapphic romance that was quick and entertaining. 

I loved the representation of Desi parents, the way they talked, the expectations they hold, it was so real. 
The biphobia too, ‘just pick a side' attitude that some people have, that too, felt very real.
The characters were brought out really well for their school setting. 

But like every YA book, I felt like the problems just get solved too easily and everything's tied up neatly with a bow. How Hani's dad just listened to her and admitted all his wrong doings. How Aisling decides to apologise to Hani. 

Overall it's okay, I suppose. I was willing to overlook it because it's a wholesome story.

This was my favorite weekly read, I enjoyed every chapter, full of happiness and hate at the same time, hate for the ignorance and shameless façade of “friends”, I feel like this book came at just the right time.

Dnf 22% the characters were unlikeable and I was struggling to relate to them.

I read a lot of queer romance books and I have to say, this one is perfect!
The characters are lovely, I enjoyed the story with its different side plots and the writing style is so easy to read while keeping you hooked.
I literally couldn't put this down and sat on my sofa for 5 hours reading this marvellous book.

Would love a part two to see where hani and ishu end up.

I enjoyed it overall, however, it killed me how long it took for Hani to accept that she had the most terrible and toxic friends. I don't care she's known them since infancy, the way they treated her and Ishita was disgusting.

I loved every thing about this book! Jaigirdar was amazing at evoking emotion through her words and creating characters that are easily relatable. I've been wanting to read this for so long and I wasn't disappointed. I will definitely be picking up more of Adiba's works soon.

The ending realy got me

I loved this book!! So much!! I really love both Hani and Ishu, they really connected with me. I was slightly disappointed at the end when Aisling didn't really get her comeuppance, especially with the cheating incident which just made me mad, but I guess it sort of represents how in life you can't always get absolute justice.
I liked how neither Hani nor Ishu achieved what they set out to with the whole fake dating thing, because they both got something much better; each other!

this book was so cute i loved every minute, well except for the parts where i threw the book across my room multiple times because Aisling & Dee suck, ESPECIALLY AISLING

i don't like the fake dating trope......but this book definitely changed my mind omfg

Very bold (and very fun) that all the white characters in this entire book are 100% The Worst
