Grass Kings, Vol. 1

Watercolor style artwork is gorgeous. Characters are outsiders/eccentrics/damaged-goods in ways that are understandable and almost relatable at times. Set on an off grid encampment in a plains setting but not post-apocalyptic so not that doom and gloom, just a collection of people who want to be in this specific community but outside, well outside, the mainstream. It has an interesting internal history, if a little cliche maybe. Writing is good though. Enjoyable and will try the second volume but this might be a slow burn.

This was awesome. I would love to see this as a tv series and I want to meet more residents of the kingdom.

I had a feeling from the cover that there would be a True Detective, season 1 vibe to this. I wasn't too far off.
