ইবসেনের লেখা নাটকগুলোর মধ্যে তুলনায় কম আলোচিত নাটক এটি। যদিও বিষয়বস্তুর বিচারে সবচেয়ে বেশি বিতর্কিত। ঘৃণিতও বলা চলে। নাটকের কাহিনি-অংশটি আমার কাছে বেশ দুর্বল মনে হয়েছে। একটা চরিত্রও মনে দাগ কাটতে পারেনি। তবে, নাটকের নামকরণের কারণটা উপলব্ধি করে সামান্য চিন্তার পরিসর তৈরি হয়েছিলো, এটুকুই যা প্রাপ্তি।
