Fruits Basket, Vol. 1

Don't actually look at my rating for this. It just wasn't for me, I don't think it was objectively bad and the story wasn't bad, I just am not really into manga apparently. Thank you to BookRiot's Read Harder challenge for making me branch out and try this, maybe I'll try another manga but I will say this was a pretty okay one if I had to read a manga

Disclaimer: this is my first real attempt at reading manga. The formatting and dialogue are a little rough for me to get through, but I like the fantasy elements and the romantic tension so I'm landing in the middle on this.

This one was cute and Tohru was sweet, funny and silly, but I didn't like it enough to read any more volumes. I like the Zodiac twist and all the side characters are fun, but it just didn't grab me.

Help, why is this so popular? I didn't understand it at all and I feel hopelessly out of touch.
