Finally the answer as to whether Tris and Caleb are twins...and the story of Four getting his name.
4.5
This is actually much better than the previous short story Free Four. We get to see a more vulnerable side of Four. And I'm really proud that he grew up to be such a tough guy after transferring to Dauntless. I was kinda expecting some of his family background and how his dad turned out to be really cruel against him. But at least we got an in-depth information on what was going through Four's mind during the Choosing Ceremony and the initiations. Tobias is just literally different from what we know of “Four”.
Since this is just a novella, it's not really mandatory for you to read it because there's not really a lot going on. But after reading them, you'll get further knowledge on what the entire series is all about. I'd still recommend it though. And I'm excited for the other novellas!
This was really good. It gave us an insight in Four's life with things that I needed to know and things that I didn't even knew I needed to know. It explains with real scenarios how the Marcus/Tobias relationship really works and I think I finally start to think better of it. It gave me back that feeling of not wanting to put it down that I had with Divergent, and I was tented to give a 5 star if it wasn't for a little small problem I had with it. But the rest was amazing. I can't wait to see what other little stories the author has for us that will make me fall for this story like Divergent did. And it made me like Tobias a little bit more. And hate Marcus a whole lot more.
Gave it a 4.25 ish. Excellent novella.

How can you not love anything that involves Four?
The first of four (yep, four stories about Four)new short stories that will lead up to the movie premier. This story doesn't introduce any thing new to the Divergent Universe, but it does give the reader more insight to Four and why he does and believes what he does. At only 35 pages, there isn't a mountain range of depth or explanation, but there is enough there for small little moments that add to the character. The glass statue and all the other things he collected because of his mother, his short coversation with one of the factionless, his want to punish Marcus turning into a realization that his decision gave him a clean slate to start over.
Highly recommended reading for anyone who has read the novels in this series.
