I started off really loving this book, which is why I rounded the rating up to 3 stars. The thing is, there is a lot of shame over the porn industry and I'm not down with that. Are there problems with the industry? Sure, but to feel disgusted and betrayed by the person you love for finding out they did it is... the way it was handled here pissed me off. Listen, there is no shame in doing porn. Filming sex scenes to help pay for someone's medical bills? Even more noble since it was outside their comfort zone. So the whole conflict, especially the reaction? Be mad you weren't told, sure, but not about the job.
No you know what, the more I think about it, the more I remember how much I wanted to rant and DNF a book at 95 friggin' % has me lowering the official rating to 2 stars.
Now that was a great book. You definitely wouldn't want to read it before reading the Hell or High Water series first. This story had intriguing characters with a unique way of interacting (not necessarily so unique IRL, but I've not seen it done in a book), and the ending was just awesome. Looking forward to reading more about these two!
