A tale of a dad going to buy milk for his kids. When he returns much later than expected and his kids ask him why, he relays a tale of adventure that is equal parts unbelievable, silly, and sarcastically hysterical. I give it a 3, but the kiddies I read it to give it a 4 - and their word is final!
A great children's book - Dinosaurs, time travel, pirates, aztecs and aliens!
and BEAUTIFUL illustrations by Chris Riddell! The kind of pictures you stare at for ages... love it!
Is it just me, or does this read like an episode of Doctor Who (10th Doctor)? Really, just substitute the stegosaurus and the hot air balloon for a blue box...
Anyway I loved it. Great, very imaginative, short read. Very enjoyable. And timey wimey.
I read this book in about 20 minutes this morning.
I can't wait to share this book with my students.
I am a well-known Gaiman fangirl who regularly gushes about how awesome is works are, but that is immaterial
You should read this one if you have kids, like kids, or just keep a solid relationship with your inner kid.
Gaiman Fangirl out.
