Fire

I think it is important to note that while this story is in the same world as Graceling it isn't within the lands of Graceling. Looking at the map I would say Dell is probably on the other side of the mountains and to the East.
I was actually really confused about where this story was and why no one had multi-colored eyes, not even our protagonist.

Besides that confusion I enjoyed the book. I did see the concerns others had about the similarities between Fire and Katsa but, they both their own person. There is a lot of strings unattached sex and mentions of it... Almost out of hand BUT for the type of ruler they had it made sense to me. As for Fire not wanting children like Katsa I completely understood her not wanting to create another monster like her father. Their reasons were definitely different.

I did wish I had more background on these monsters and what actually made them ‘monsters' I was quite confused. But, it didn't hinder me appreciating the story.

Liked Graceling more but, still think this is worth a read.
