This book has such an interesting premise. It just was poorly executed.

The middle of this book is extremely slow. I listened to it as an audiobook and I truly think my saving grace was the narrator– she kept me somewhat engaged even when the story itself was b o r i n g.

I also was not a fan of the changing perspectives. I felt like the author didn't give enough attention to the perspectives outside of Joan's, so when they were present I was both confused and bored. I didn't care about the other characters. Quite frankly, the other perspectives feel as though they were put in place as a buffer because the author needed some filler to add page count.

Overall, disappointed. Such a great idea, but the book itself is utterly flawed.
