Thoughtful, sobering story of a family forged by secrets of the past that the parents kept from their children. In this case, a hidden Jewish heritage and the ravages of war. Beautifully written by one of the daughters who, with her sister, endured a suffocating life that resulted in co-dependence and psychological issues that seem impossible to overcome. Part of the backlash was the yin and yang of the sisters' relationship. Although never released from these issues, both became accomplished women in their life.
