Your family would kill to see you happy
‘ARE YOU…DEAD?’
OH MY GOD. I THINK HE IS.
When Meddy Chan accidentally kills her blind date, she turns to her aunties for help. Their meddling set her up on the date so they kind of owe her.
WELL, THAT DIDN’T QUITE GO TO PLAN.
Although hiding this goddamn dead body is going to be harder than they thought especially when her family’s wedding business has THE biggest wedding of the year happening right now.
IT’S PRETTY BAD TIMING REALLY.
It turns out the wedding venue just happens to be managed by Meddy’s ex, aka the one who got away. It’s the worst time to see him again, or…is it? Can Meddy finally find love and make her overbearing family happy?

Murder - thousands of wedding guests - 3 generation of an immigrant Chines-Indonesian family of women. Meddy Chan and Nathan Chan were college sweethearts. She breaks them up at graduation and regrets it for years, until she bumps into him at a resort wedding where she is the photographer and he is the owner. Silly, readable, entertaining, illogical plot, great characters.
3.5 stars. The premise of this book sounded quirky and fun. And it is. But it's also disturbing because for three quarters of the book they're schlepping around a dead guy Weekend at Bernie's style. There a definite ick factor.
this was a cute, fun, silly, goofy time. thankfully i wasn't in the mood to be critical and had the heads-up that it's lighthearted, not serious and very unrealistic so that helped my overall enjoyment
p.s. is it just a universal southeast asian thing? people naming their kids after western celebrities? because i know many a pinoy who suffered the same fate as tom cruise sutopo
