Three thoughts:

1. Recollections of the days post 2016 election brought me back into a space that still makes my stomach turn with same anxiety I felt then and still feel now- a good reminder in case I've become numbed out a bit by how frequent the jarring political occurrences are happening. I won't accept these things as normal.

2. I've never thought of crying as a valid form of public expression. The fact that it makes me uncomfortable makes me want to consider this point more.

3. It leaves a little bit of hope. Losing doesn't mean a person is defeated. I hope that I can think back on this book when a woman is elected to office and remember how each of these feelings felt in this moment and then look forward with fresh eyes.
