Deadly Encounter
2016

Thoroughly enjoyed this one...and got creeped out by some things in it. Drones, biological warafre, dogs used as weapons, and in the middle of it all a loving vet who just wants to finish the legal work to get custody of her 12-year-old neighbor, kid genius Whitt.

It seems each Mills book is harder to guess than the one before it. I didn't decide on the murderer until within the last 50 pages. There are many levels involved in this crime, many suspects. In he end it makes sense, but not in a way you could possibly predict from page one. I love this sort of story! I particularly enjoyed Stacy, Whitt (such a delightful kid!), Alex, and Xena the dog.

Just don't pick this one up before bed, because you won't be sleeping.
