Days of Blood & Starlight

Still love the wonderful unique prose. The first half of the book was slow and made it hard to get into until it wasn't. Still the same engaging characters and a few new interesting introductions. Love how this young adult novel has found a grown-up voice with the cold truth of the ugly side of war. This is not just about star crossed lovers but the depth to save a people, save two worlds, and save themselves.

Hmm, middle books of trilogies are tough. This one had a LOT of exposition to deliver. Still, satisfying, and I'm definitely looking forward to book 3, like, OMG.

I wish I had been able to listen to the audiobook, but I was glad I'd listened to the first one on audio–the audiobook is really great and I was able to still hear some of the voices and accents (and pronunciations of weird monster names) in my head.

I very much enjoyed this book, and felt it was much better written then the first in the series. I had mainly picked this up because I'd liked the story in ‘Daughter of Smoke and Bone' and wanted to see what happened, but I actually really enjoyed the read this time. It seemed like everything went into a little more detail, and was a little more involved, and I never felt the need to skim through it. The story is still tops however, with a few little twists at the ending that I didn't predict. Very excited for the third book!
