Daughter of the Deep

As an occasional reader of fiction, I am glad I read this one. The story is engaging and the writing is crisp. Yes, I got tired of reading “alt-tech” again and again after a while when it all really is “tech”. And it felt very convenient that you had the right set of people for whatever challenges came up (except in a few situations). But those are more like minor inconveniences in a good story. It doesn't ruin the reading and I was able to enjoy the whole book, especially the second half of the book when I couldn't put it down at all.
