Dark Matter

Oh this book was so gooooood! It was absolutely compelling and I read it in just over a day.

The book follows a man who gets abducted on his way home and wakes up in a lab where people seem to know him and indicate he's been missing for over a year - this is news to him. He escapes the lab and goes home to find his wife is not his wife and his son was never born so he's understandably freaking out and wants to find out what the hell is going on. (This really isn't a spoiler as it's so early in the book!)

I will say that you should go into this book knowing as little as possible; it's such a fast paced and exciting read that you will fly through this uncovering the twists and turns so quickly as you go. This is mind bending, genre bending, and has plenty of WTF moments where you have to know....just, how?!

The writing was thrilling and I loved how the author blended such an exciting action packed story line with a beautiful theme of family and love and holding onto that person who is the other half of you no matter what happens.

The one thing I will say is if you have absolutely no interest in science whatsoever you will likely glaze over at certain points of this book, but those points of the story are delivered and explained in such a way that you really don't need any prior knowledge in that area to understand.

I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who loves a thriller with a difference. I've never read anything like this and I doubt I will again, it's a very unique story which I hope many others enjoy.
