As much as I feel that the dystopian novel has been beaten to death, dragged over hot coals, chilled and then served as leftovers....this one was pretty good. I liked the earthquakes unleashing a rage virus (which I did not read as zombieism). I had a little trouble keeping all of the characters straight, but it was better when they started to pair up.
Some mysteries:
Who the heck is Daniel? And why do I like him so much?
Are all the people left in the world (non-virus people) teens? Where is everybody?
Why do the “baggers” have levels? Nothing gives us a kind of guide, really late into the book, but
I am still a little confused.
And who is Nothing?
Well, I'm hooked for a sequel.
I had this arc laying around and realized the second one is coming out soon, so I figured I would start this one. I'm glad I did.
Is this maybe The Stand, starring teens?
