A pleasantly composed multi-thread story with two main storylines, ending with a multitude of little subplots that end surprisingly and satisfactorily. Skillfully interwoven. A great set of characters, a lot of humor and a 1970s early feminist stage.
A great read. I can see why Slaughter is a best selling author.
We do get a lot of traumatized detectives nowadays, but may be Slaughter started thectrend?
I had no idea this was the sixth in a series! Dang it.. it read like a standalone.
This book was brilliant. In this, the latest in the Will Trent series, we finally learn how Will came to be raised in an orphanage.Set in the present day, with flashbacks to the mid-seventies this is the story of Amanda Wagner and Evelyn Mitchell and their early days on the police force as much as it is Will's story. “Criminal” is the best of the Will Trent series so far.
